Shamwari was co-founded by Cee Jay and Kerry Ann Besa — a husband and wife team based in the United States with a clear mission: to bring world-class AI tools to African businesses that have been underserved by Silicon Valley software for too long.
The word Shamwari means "friend" in Shona, Zimbabwe's most widely spoken language. That is exactly what we intend to be — a trusted friend to every African business owner who is ready to grow.
We believe Africa does not need tools adapted from elsewhere. Africa needs tools built for here — understanding our languages, our payment systems, our workflows, and our ambitions.
Cee Jay and Kerry Ann Besa are a husband and wife team based in the USA, building AI tools designed specifically for African service businesses. Cee Jay brings the product vision and technical direction. Kerry Ann brings the operational discipline and brand strategy.
